A Few Tips on How To Use a Skull Ice Mold
How to avoid ice block between the bottom and top molds:
If your skull ice cubes don't look good, it is because the grooves on the joint area were not sealed completely. To ensure complete sealing while freezing, we recommend that you stack the molds with something heavy such as an ice pack, ice bin, another set of ice cube molds or anything heavy that you have in your freezer.
Altering the tiny spilling holes to dime-sized filling holes:
The tiny holes on top are not filling holes. These are designed to work as spilling holes for excessive liquid to come out. However, if you want to use them as filling holes, you may do so by cutting each tiny hole to a dime-sized hole. In this way, you may pour your choice of liquid through these holes.
How to make clear ice cubes:
If you use regular tap water, you will get cloudy ice cubes because the air in water makes patterns when freezing. To make clear ice cubes, we recommend that you use filtered water and boil twice - let it cool down the first time but keep it hot after the second time of boiling. Be careful not to scald yourself with hot water. This will get rid of the air in the water and could make clear ice cubes.
How to remove white film from the molds:
Prepare 7-8 cups of water, 2-3 tablespoons of baking soda, 1/3 cup of vinegar and a soft toothbrush. Fill your sink with this stain removal solution. Soak your molds in it and brush them using the soft toothbrush until the white film goes away. Rinse them thoroughly with running water.
